Los Alcázares to develop school safety protocol for heavy rain

The Los Alcázares City Council and the Regional Government of Murcia are collaborating to establish a specific safety protocol for educational centers in the municipality. The initiative aims to coordinate responses and define action criteria when meteorological alerts reach orange or red levels due to intense rainfall.

The agreement follows meetings between Mayor Mario Pérez Cervera and regional officials, including the Counselor for Presidency and Emergencies, Marcos Ortuño. Technical meetings involving Civil Protection and the General Directorate of Emergencies are scheduled to begin next week to define the specific measures and procedures.

The municipality seeks a customized procedure that accounts for its specific vulnerabilities to torrential rain, a concern highlighted by recent weather events in the area.
