Los Alegres del Barranco report government censorship at CDMX concert
The Sinaloan musical group Los Alegres del Barranco performed at the Arena Ciudad de México on Friday, August 7, as part of their "Siempre Alegres Tour." Despite the venue's capacity, the concert was attended by approximately 3,500 people.
During the show, vocalist José Pavel Moreno informed the audience that certain songs from their repertoire were prohibited. Moreno stated that "people from the government" had intervened to instruct the band on which tracks could not be performed, showing the audience a playlist with songs crossed out.
The band explained that these restrictions were intended to avoid further legal complications following a previous incident in Zapopan, Jalisco. The group expressed frustration over the censorship, noting they felt "incomplete" by not being able to play their hits, but stated they had to "respect the laws" to avoid repeating past legal issues.
