Los Angeles Angels defeat Minnesota Twins 5-4 on walk-off

The Los Angeles Angels defeated the Minnesota Twins 5-4 in a dramatic comeback during the series opener in Anaheim. After holding a 3-0 lead, the Angels surrendered the lead in the ninth inning when Twins rookie Walker Jenkins hit a two-run home run to tie the game.

The Twins took a 4-3 lead in the top of the tenth inning following an RBI single by Brooks Lee. However, the Angels responded in the bottom of the tenth. Mike Trout hit a game-tying RBI single off Yoendrys Gomez, and Wade Meckler followed with a walk-off RBI single off Kody Funderburk to secure the victory.

Angels rookie Walbert Ureña provided a strong performance, pitching seven shutout innings with nine strikeouts, though he received no decision. For the Twins, starter Taj Bradley pitched seven innings, allowing three runs and striking out nine.
