Los Angeles Angels defeat Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 in ninth‑inning thriller

Trey Mancini hit a two‑run triple early, giving the Los Angeles Angels a 2‑0 lead against the Tampa Bay Rays in Anaheim. Rookie pitcher Sam Aldegheri threw five strong innings, allowing two runs (one earned) and three hits while striking out four. The Angels extended the lead to 4‑0 with contributions from Nick Madrigal, Logan O’Hoppe and Mike Trout.

The Rays rallied to 4‑3 in the ninth, but closer Ryan Zeferjahn entered with the bases loaded and struck out Cedric Mullins on a 2‑2 pitch to seal the win, earning his second save and the Angels’ third straight victory. The game featured a ceremonial first pitch thrown by U.S. Navy Captain and NASA Artemis II astronaut Victor Glover. The next day's starters will be Griffin Jax for the Rays and José Soriano for the Angels.
