Los Angeles Angels pitching improves following coaching staff changes

The Los Angeles Angels have seen a significant improvement in their pitching performance following a coaching staff overhaul. After parting ways with pitching coach Mike Maddux, bullpen coach Dom Chiti, and assistant pitching coach Darryl Scott, the team appointed Tim Leveque and Michael Wuertz as interim coaches.

Since the staff revamp on August 11, the Angels have recorded a 1.64 collective ERA, the best in MLB by a wide margin. Key contributors include Reid Detmers, who has pitched 14 scoreless innings since the change, and rotation players George Klassen and Ryan Johnson.

In upcoming action, the Angels (52-79) host the Cleveland Guardians (65-66) in Anaheim. The Guardians enter the series on a three-game road winning streak. George Klassen is scheduled to pitch for the Angels against Cleveland's Parker Messick.
