Los Angeles Angels undergo leadership changes following 100-loss season

The Los Angeles Angels have concluded a historic low point, finishing their season with 62 wins and 100 losses, the worst record in franchise history. Following this performance, the club decided not to renew the contract of manager Kurt Suzuki after just one year in the role. Despite the team's struggles, Suzuki reportedly earned respect from the players, and the organization offered him a position as a special assistant.

The team is currently undergoing a significant transition period. Longtime owner Arte Moreno has reportedly agreed to sell the club to a business group led by Stan Kroenke. This change in ownership is expected to bring new leadership to the front office and management levels by 2027.

The Angels have faced prolonged competitive difficulties, failing to reach the postseason since 2014 and recording more losses than wins for eleven consecutive seasons. The roster remains heavily impacted by long-term financial commitments, including Mike Trout’s contract through 2030 and deferred salary obligations to Anthony Rendon.
