Los Angeles authorities seize $10M in counterfeit streetwear
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) has uncovered a major counterfeit operation involving thousands of fake branded streetwear items. Following a tip in early August, authorities intercepted a shipment at a port of entry containing counterfeit apparel and footwear from brands including Nike, Adidas, and Fear of God.
On August 25, deputies and federal agents executed a search warrant at a commercial warehouse located on Goldring Road in Arcadia, California. The raid resulted in the recovery of 25,898 counterfeit items, which have an estimated retail value of $10 million.
While no arrests were made during the search, the owner of the business operating out of the warehouse is considered a suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing. This operation is part of broader efforts by the LASD Community Partnership Bureau Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement Team (CAPE) to combat organized retail crime and the sale of illicit goods.
