Los Angeles Chargers rule out six players for Week 3
The Los Angeles Chargers have announced several player absences and roster moves ahead of their Week 3 matchup. Offensive lineman Trey Pipkins has been placed on injured reserve due to a knee injury, which will sideline him for at least the next four games.
Other players ruled out for Week 3 include G Kayode Awosika (fibula), TE Charlie Kolar (forearm), DB Elijah Molden (hip), WR Brenen Thompson (quadriceps), and DL Dalvin Tomlinson (hamstring).
In response to these injuries, the Chargers signed quarterback DJ Uiagalelei from the practice squad to the active roster. Uiagalelei may serve as an emergency quarterback, particularly as Trey Lance is currently dealing with a groin injury. Additionally, tight end Patrick Herbert and outside linebacker Caleb Murphy have been designated as gameday elevations.
