Los Angeles Chargers see positive preseason developments
The Los Angeles Chargers are seeing positive developments across both their offensive and defensive units during the preseason and training camp.
Defensive coordinator Chris O'Leary received praise following his NFL play-calling debut. After the departure of Jesse Minter to the Baltimore Ravens, O'Leary implemented a scheme that maintained elements of the previous defense, specifically excelling in pass defense. In a recent game against Houston, the unit limited the Texans to 105 passing yards.
On the offensive side, new coordinator Mike McDaniel is reshaping the unit to prioritize playmakers in space. While much attention has focused on rookie Brenen Thompson and running back Omarion Hampton, wide receiver Tre' Harris has seen rising expectations for his sophomore season. Harris has reportedly added approximately eight pounds of muscle to his 6'3" frame to enhance his physical presence on the field.
