Los Angeles City Attorney confirms investigation into Lineage fire

The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office has confirmed it has been conducting an investigation into the Lineage warehouse fire since early July. This admission contradicts recent statements by Mayor Karen Bass, who suggested that the elected attorney had not yet acted on requests to investigate the incident.

City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto’s office had not previously disclosed the investigation. While the City Council has requested a report on available legal options, that report has not been completed or released to the public. Mayor Bass stated that she had requested both the City Attorney and Attorney General Rob Bonta to open corporate accountability investigations, noting that they are independent elected officials who decide whether to proceed.
