Los Angeles community hosts events for Double Tenth National Day
Various organizations in Los Angeles are organizing events to celebrate the Double Tenth National Day. The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles has announced a series of activities scheduled for October 3 and 4, including a community banquet, a large-scale parade in Los Angeles Chinatown, and a flag-raising ceremony. Additionally, the ‘Light of Life—Dancing Ring Theater’ cultural visiting group will perform traditional Taiwanese arts at El Monte High School.
In a separate celebration, the Southern California chapter of the World Chinese Business Women hosted a ‘Banquet Culture’ event on September 12. The gathering featured traditional Taiwanese dishes from various regions, such as Kinmen peanut pig trotter noodles and Penghu squid balls, to promote Taiwanese culinary heritage. The event was attended by local political figures, including U.S. Representatives Young Kim and Judy Chu, and officials from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles.
