Los Angeles County seeks resident input for fiscal year 2027-2028 budget

Los Angeles County is inviting residents to participate in the budget planning process for the 2027-2028 fiscal year through a series of online surveys. Available until Saturday, Oct. 31, the surveys allow the public to weigh in on 39 different county programs, including public health, youth development, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Chief Executive Officer Joseph M. Nicchitta stated that the goal is to maintain safety net services and meet essential community needs, ranging from mental health care to emergency operations and election security. The feedback collected will be reviewed by various departments to inform budget recommendations, which are scheduled to be presented to the Board of Supervisors in April.

Los Angeles County, which serves nearly 10 million residents, recently approved a $54.2 billion budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year focused on housing, wildfire recovery, and emergency preparedness.
