Los Angeles Dodgers activate Dalton Rushing from injured list
The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated catcher Dalton Rushing from the 10-day injured list, optioning infielder Alex Freeland to Triple-A Oklahoma City to make room on the active roster.
Rushing returns after dealing with a flexor tendon injury, which followed a previous issue involving a partially torn UCL. While he is being reinstated, he remains unable to play defense for the rest of the season. Manager Dave Roberts stated that Rushing will be utilized primarily as a pinch-hitter over the final three games of the regular season, with a maximum of three at-bats expected.
This brief audition serves as a test for Rushing’s potential role on the postseason roster. He is currently competing for a bench spot against prospect Josue De Paula. Rushing has expressed optimism regarding his recovery, noting that he hopes to avoid offseason surgery following recent medical treatment.
