Los Angeles Dodgers activate Kris Bubic from injured list

The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated left-handed pitcher Kris Bubic from the 60-day injured list ahead of their series against the Cincinnati Reds. Bubic, an All-Star in 2025, was acquired from the Kansas City Royals at the trade deadline in exchange for minor league pitcher Carlos Duran.

While Bubic has primarily served as a starting pitcher throughout his seven-season career, the Dodgers intend to utilize him as a relief option in the bullpen. This move follows a successful rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he recorded nine strikeouts over 5.2 scoreless innings across six appearances.

To facilitate Bubic’s arrival, the Dodgers optioned right-handed pitcher Paul Gervase to Triple-A Oklahoma City and designated outfielder Ryan Ward for assignment to clear space on the 40-man roster.
