Los Angeles Dodgers advance to NLCS after defeating Atlanta Braves
The Los Angeles Dodgers have advanced to the National League Championship Series (NLCS) after defeating the Atlanta Braves 4-1 in Game 4 of the National League Division Series (NLDS). The victory secures the series 3-1 for Los Angeles.
Andy Pages provided the decisive blow in the seventh inning, hitting a two-run single with the bases loaded to break a 1-1 tie. This performance marked a significant turnaround for Pages, who had struggled offensively in previous postseason appearances. Max Muncy extended his franchise postseason home run record to 19 with a solo shot in the ninth inning.
On the mound, Tyler Glasnow allowed only one hit in 4.2 innings despite issuing five walks. The Dodgers' bullpen, including Alex Vesia, Edgardo Henríquez, Tanner Scott, and Edwin Díaz, held the Braves scoreless following the seventh inning. The Braves' offense struggled throughout the series, failing to score on 18 runners left on base.
The Dodgers now prepare to face either the Milwaukee Brewers or the San Diego Padres in the NLCS. Meanwhile, the MLB continues negotiations regarding a potential lockout and proposed changes to the collective bargaining agreement, including a possible return to a 154-game regular season.
