Los Angeles Dodgers bolster roster with Glasnow and Ohtani returns

The Los Angeles Dodgers are strengthening their roster as key players return from injury. Pitcher Tyler Glasnow is set to make his return to the mound on August 26 against the Atlanta Braves, marking his first appearance in approximately two months following a back injury. Before his absence, Glasnow maintained a 2.72 ERA.

Additionally, Shohei Ohtani is nearing a return to pitching duties after managing a recurring knee injury that limited him to a designated hitter role. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts indicated that Ohtani may participate in live batting practice or a bullpen session before potentially pitching against the Detroit Tigers on August 31. The team plans to manage Ohtani's workload carefully, potentially using him in an opener role during the postseason.

These returns follow the recent comeback of Blake Snell, who has performed strongly in his August appearances. The influx of healthy talent bolsters a Dodgers rotation that includes Yoshinobu Yamamoto and others as the team maintains its position at the top of the National League West.
