Los Angeles Dodgers bolster roster with return of Smith, Rushing, and Robleski

The Los Angeles Dodgers have announced the return of three players from the injured list: catcher Will Smith, catcher Dalton Rushing, and left-handed reliever Justin Robleski.

Will Smith had been sidelined since early June due to neck issues, while Rushing had been out since August 3 with right elbow inflammation. Their simultaneous return significantly bolsters the team's catching depth following a difficult August performance. Additionally, reliever Robleski returns to the active roster, and infielder A. Freeland has been added to the roster.

As part of these roster moves, the Dodgers expanded their active roster from 26 to 28 players. Consequently, outfielder Alec Thomas has been demoted to the minor leagues, and catcher Ben Rortvedt has been designated for assignment (DFA) after struggling offensively with a .185 batting average.
