Hyeseong Kim emerges as potential Dodgers postseason roster candidate
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has indicated that infielder Hyeseong Kim and outfielder Josue De Paula are under serious consideration for the team’s 26-man postseason roster.
Kim, 27, has been playing for the Dodgers' Triple-A affiliate in Oklahoma City since late May. While his offensive statistics have been inconsistent, with a .259 batting average and .651 OPS in 43 MLB games this season, Roberts highlighted Kim’s value as a specialist. The manager noted that Kim’s ability to run, play defense, and steal bases makes him a viable option for the upcoming National League Division Series.
Josue De Paula, 21, is also being evaluated for a roster spot following an impressive 11-game stint in the majors after being promoted directly from Double-A. Both players are expected to participate in team workouts during the Dodgers' upcoming bye week to prepare for the playoffs.
