Dodgers defeat Tigers 6-1 to win series in Detroit

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Detroit Tigers 6-1 on Sunday to win two out of three games in their series at Comerica Park. Tyler Glasnow delivered a dominant performance, pitching seven innings with six strikeouts and allowing only two hits and one run in his second start since returning from the injured list.

Teoscar Hernández provided critical offensive support with a two-run home run in the sixth inning, breaking a 1-1 tie. The Dodgers added three more runs in the eighth inning following a rally that included a Max Muncy RBI single and two runs scored on wild pitches by Tanner Rainey.

For the Tigers, Framber Valdez pitched six innings, allowing three runs. Despite a notable increase in sinker velocity, Valdez could not prevent the Dodgers from taking control. Following the series loss, the Tigers have made roster adjustments, including designating pitcher Tanner Rainey for assignment.

In other MLB action, the Tampa Bay Rays completed a three-game sweep of the San Diego Padres with a 5-4 extra-innings victory, driven by a decisive RBI single from Jorge Mateo in the eleventh inning.
