Milwaukee Brewers sweep Dodgers to reach World Series

The Milwaukee Brewers have advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1982 after completing a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series. In the decisive fourth game, Milwaukee overcame an early 4-0 deficit at Dodger Stadium to win 6-4.

Shohei Ohtani provided an early spark for the Dodgers with a three-run home run, but the Brewers mounted a comeback fueled by Jake Bauers and a decisive sixth-inning home run from Garrett Mitchell. David Hamilton added a solo shot in the ninth inning to secure the victory. Milwaukee’s bullpen, led by Aaron Ashby, proved instrumental in shutting down the Dodgers' offense in the final innings.

The Brewers' victory marks a significant upset against the two-time defending champions, especially considering Milwaukee's much smaller payroll compared to the Dodgers' star-studded roster. Milwaukee will now await the winner of the American League Championship Series between the Cleveland Guardians and the Tampa Bay Rays for the World Series, which is scheduled to begin on October 23.
