Los Angeles Dodgers face postseason challenges amid roster uncertainty

The Los Angeles Dodgers are pursuing a third consecutive World Series title, but recent postseason performance has raised questions about the team's dominance. Despite a 100-win regular season, the lineup has struggled to maintain superstar-level production. Shohei Ohtani has recorded only two hits in his first two postseason games, and other key players like Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman have seen fluctuations in their performance levels.

Amidst the playoff run, pitcher Alex Vesia has indicated that this season could be his final year with the team. Currently in the final year of a two-year, $5.8 million contract, the 30-year-old left-hander has been a reliable bullpen staple for six seasons. Vesia, who posted a 2.64 ERA this season, is expected to enter free agency at the end of the 2026 season.
