Los Angeles Dodgers outright catcher Ben Rortvedt to Triple-A

The Los Angeles Dodgers have outrighted catcher Ben Rortvedt to Triple-A Oklahoma City after he cleared waivers. The move follows his designation for assignment, which was made to create roster space for Will Smith upon his return from the injured list.

Rortvedt, 28, has been a significant depth piece for the organization. After being reacquired from the New York Mets at the trade deadline, he played a notable role during the team’s recent championship run, including the postseason.
