Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell makes progress after elbow surgery

Los Angeles Dodgers right‑hander Blake Snell, who underwent surgery to remove loose bodies from his elbow, played catch for the first time since the operation in early June. The procedure was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache using a NanoNeedle Scope, a device smaller than a traditional arthroscope. Within weeks, Snell was also throwing again ahead of the Dodgers’ series opener against the Los Angeles Angels, with manager Dave Roberts describing the progress as encouraging while cautioning that a return to the mound may still be weeks away, possibly in July.

The Dodgers, currently leading the National League West, said they will continue to monitor Snell’s recovery and aim to have him ready for the postseason. Other pitchers on the staff, including closer Edwin Diaz, who also had loose bodies removed, are showing positive progress in their own throwing programs.
