Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell set for elbow surgery

Los Angeles Dodgers left‑hander Blake Snell will undergo surgery on Tuesday to remove loose bodies from his elbow, team general manager Brandon Gomes said. The procedure, the same one used on Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, is intended to shorten Snell’s recovery timeline. "Hopefully it’s the shorter timeline," Gomes added. Snell, who carries a $182 million contract, has made only one start this season.

The Dodgers are already grappling with multiple pitching injuries. starter Tyler Glasnow is sidelined with a back issue, reliever Edwin Diaz is out for at least three months after similar elbow surgery, and left‑hander Jack Dreyer is on the injured list with shoulder discomfort. The club has been repeatedly reshuffling its rotation and bullpen, though it still ranks among the majors’ lowest ERA figures.
