Los Angeles Dodgers place Dalton Rushing on injured list

The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed catcher Dalton Rushing on the 10-day injured list due to right elbow discomfort. The move was backdated to September 5, after Rushing was scratched from a lineup due to the issue. Manager Dave Roberts noted that Rushing experienced a flare-up during early throwing sessions and will undergo imaging to assess a potential slight tear in the UCL of his right elbow. While the injury affects his throwing, Roberts indicated that Rushing may still be able to contribute as a hitter.

To address the roster vacancy, the Dodgers recalled Eliezer Alfonzo from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Alfonzo, who is already on the team’s 40-man roster, provides additional depth and flexibility for the catching position and the bench.
