Los Angeles Firefighter Dies in 605 Freeway Collision with Semi Truck
The Los Angeles Fire Department identified 35‑year‑old firefighter Stan Reza as the victim of a fatal crash on the northbound I‑605 Freeway near Beverly Boulevard in Whittier, California. Reza, who was off‑duty and driving a pickup truck, collided with a tractor‑trailer early Friday morning. He died at the scene from blunt traumatic injuries, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office.
LAFD Chief Jaime Moore expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with Firefighter Reza’s family… and with every member of this department who is grieving alongside them.” The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident. Memorial arrangements will be announced later.
