Los Angeles Galaxy defeat New England Revolution 2-1

The Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the New England Revolution 2-1 on Saturday night at Dignity Health Sports Park, snapping a two-match winless streak and revitalizing their playoff aspirations.

Marco Reus opened the scoring in the 11th minute with a penalty kick after Will Sands fouled Kyōgo Furuhashi. Robert Taylor doubled the lead in the 33rd minute, assisted by a pass from Hirving Lozano following a run by Reus. Galaxy goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski recorded seven saves to maintain the lead through most of the match.

New England's Carles Gil scored a late consolation goal via a penalty kick in the sixth minute of second-half stoppage time after Luca Langoni was fouled by Harbor Miller. The victory moves the Galaxy within one point of a postseason spot, despite a season marked by significant roster overhauls and recent struggles.
