Los Angeles gas prices hit highest levels since May

Gasoline prices in Los Angeles County have reached their highest levels since late May, marking 30 consecutive days of increases. The average price for self-serve regular gasoline rose to $6.135, an increase of 49.3 cents over the last 30 days. Orange County saw similar trends, with prices rising for the 30th straight day to an average of $6.115.

Amid these rising costs, a new gas station in Studio City named Stars and Stripes has attracted attention by offering promotional regular gas prices as low as $4.99 per gallon. While the price had risen to $5.29 for regular gas by Wednesday morning, it remains significantly lower than the county average. The chain, owned by the Kalasho family, operates 15 locations across Southern California.

On a broader scale, the national average gas price has risen for the 17th time in 18 days, reaching $4.438. Additionally, diesel prices in California have reached record highs, with some stations hitting a pump limit of $9.99 per gallon. Analysts warn that record diesel costs could impact supply chains and reignite inflation.
