Los Angeles Lakers add Matisse Thybulle and Collin Sexton
The Los Angeles Lakers signed forward Matisse Thybulle on a prove‑it contract, hoping his defensive abilities and improved three‑point shooting will fill a gap at power forward. Thybulle, 29, has been limited by injuries over the past two seasons but is now listed as fully healthy and has posted shooting percentages of 43.8% from deep in 2024 and 39.8% in 2025.
The team also added guard Collin Sexton, praised for his scoring, playmaking and recent improvement as a shooter (around 39% from deep over the last four seasons). Sexton expects his off‑ball movement and scoring to benefit star Luka Doncic and strengthen a bench that struggled last season.
Both moves aim to give the Lakers greater depth on the wing and in the backcourt as they prepare for the upcoming NBA season.
