Los Angeles Lakers owners target $30 billion valuation
The incoming ownership group of the Los Angeles Lakers, led by Joshua Kushner and former Disney CEO Bob Iger, aims to increase the franchise's valuation to $30 billion by 2037. Following a record-setting $12.5 billion acquisition, the group is presenting financial projections to investors through Kushner’s firm, Thrive Capital.
A central component of this growth strategy involves significantly increasing ticket revenue. Plans include reclaiming approximately 6,000 season tickets currently held by brokers to facilitate direct single-game sales. This shift is projected to raise average single-game ticket prices from roughly $217 to $361, a nearly 66% increase.
Beyond ticketing, the group intends to drive revenue through expanded media rights, increased sponsorships, and more aggressive monetization of the team’s global fan base. The ownership group projects that annual revenue could climb from $681 million in 2026 to over $1.6 billion by 2037, with operating profits potentially reaching nearly $590 million.
