Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass gains Latino support in new poll

A recent poll conducted by UC Berkeley IGS and the Los Angeles Times indicates a tightening race for the Los Angeles mayoralty, showing a general tie between incumbent Karen Bass and Nithya Raman.

A significant shift was observed among Latino voters: Bass's support in this demographic rose from 21% in September to 40% in October, narrowing the gap with Raman, who holds 43% of the same segment. Researchers attribute this change to increased participation among older Latino voters who are more likely to favor Bass.

Additionally, Bass has captured 41% of former supporters of Republican candidate Spencer Pratt, while Raman holds 14%. However, 45% of those voters remain undecided.

In a separate engagement, Mayor Bass met with students at California State University, Northridge. During a fireside chat hosted by the Black Student Union, she emphasized the necessity of youth political involvement and discussed urban priorities such as housing affordability and public safety.
