Los Angeles Rams acquire Myles Garrett from Cleveland Browns

The Los Angeles Rams have acquired reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. In exchange, the Rams sent Jared Verse and a package of draft picks to Cleveland, including a 2027 first-round selection and a conditional 2029 third-rounder that could become a first-rounder if Garrett is traded to another AFC North team.

Garrett and the Rams reportedly reworked his contract to provide low cap hits over the next three seasons, with a 2026 cap hit of only $8.1 million. This move bolsters a defensive line that ranked second in PFF grades last season, pairing Garrett with Byron Young and Kobie Turner.

For the Cleveland Browns, the trade provides rebuilding capital through Jared Verse, the 2024 rookie Defensive Player of the Year, and multiple future draft picks.
