Los Angeles Rams re-sign kicker Joshua Karty to practice squad
The Los Angeles Rams have added kicker Joshua Karty to their practice squad as a contingency measure for their special teams unit. Karty, a former sixth-round draft pick from Stanford, was previously waived eight games into his second season with the team.
The move follows instability in the Rams' kicking game. After Karty was waived, the team utilized Harrison Mevis before he was released on October 13. Subsequent efforts included Blake Grupe, who suffered a season-ending knee injury, and Brandon McManus, who recently handled extra-point duties in a victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.
In addition to Karty, the Rams signed veteran long snapper Jake McQuaide to the practice squad. The team also added linebacker Jon Rhattigan to the squad, while cutting offensive lineman Austin Blaske, cornerback Nyzier Fourqurean, and linebacker Elias Neal.
