Los Angeles Sparks lose season finale in Nneka Ogwumike’s final game

The Los Angeles Sparks concluded their season with a 76-75 loss to the Golden State Valkyries, marking the final professional game for franchise legend Nneka Ogwumike. Despite Ogwumike scoring 12 points and helping the Sparks build a halftime lead, a fourth-quarter collapse saw the team outscored 30-20 in the final period.

Following the season, head coach Lynne Roberts addressed her future with the franchise after a 16-27 record. Roberts, who has a combined coaching record of 37-50 over two seasons, cited significant organizational changes and a history of player injuries as contributing factors to the team's struggles. She expressed a desire for stability and a clear long-term vision as the team transitions following Ogwumike’s retirement.
