Los Angeles to host documentary screening on anti-immigrant hate

As part of United Against Hate Week, L.A. vs. Hate and the AAPI Equity Alliance will host a public screening of the documentary ‘Minnesota Neighbors’ at the Japanese American National Museum on October 21.

The 60-minute film, produced by Not In Our Town, profiles Minnesotans from diverse backgrounds who organized to support immigrant residents during the 2026 immigration enforcement surges. The event, held at the museum’s Democracy Center in Little Tokyo, will include a panel discussion connecting the film’s themes of solidarity to the Los Angeles community.

Panelists include Christine Najung Lee of the Asian Youth Center and Sithea San, chair of Cambodia Town Inc., who will discuss local resistance to anti-immigrant sentiment. The program aims to explore how community building and civic participation can foster a more inclusive democracy ahead of the 2026 election.
