Los Angeles Zoo admission may increase by $2

A Los Angeles City Council committee has unanimously approved a draft ordinance to increase general admission prices at the Los Angeles Zoo by $2. This follows a $5 price hike that took effect in August 2025.

If the proposal passes further review by the Budget and Finance Committee and a final vote by the full City Council, adult tickets would rise from $27 to $29, children's tickets from $22 to $24, and senior tickets from $24 to $26. Group rates for 15 or more people would also see increases.

Zoo officials stated that the revenue is necessary to cover rising operational costs and animal care, noting that prices had not been raised between 2019 and 2025. The previous $5 increase was implemented by Mayor Karen Bass and the City Council to help address a city budget deficit of approximately $1 billion.
