French players Loïs Boisson and Diane Parry both secured first-round victories at the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati.

Loïs Boisson, ranked 299th globally, defeated Ashlyn Krueger 6-3, 6-2 in a match lasting 1 hour and 23 minutes. This win marks Boisson's first main draw victory in three months. She is scheduled to face Belinda Bencic in the next round, provided the Swiss player is fit to compete following a recent hip injury.

Diane Parry, ranked 64th, overcame Caroline Dolehide in a two-set match lasting 2 hours and 6 minutes. After winning the first set 6-4, Parry recovered from a 4-1 deficit in the second set to win the tie-break 9-7. Parry will face Elise Mertens in the second round.
