Loïs Boisson withdraws from Philadelphia tournament due to injury
French tennis player Loïs Boisson has withdrawn from her first-round match at the WTA 125 tournament in Philadelphia due to an ankle injury. Boisson was competing against American Capucine Jauffret when she suffered a twist during the first set.
After trailing 6-1 in the opening set, Boisson decided to retire from the match. Her agent, Jonathan Dasnières de Veigy, described the issue as a ‘slight ankle twist’ and noted that the decision to withdraw was made ‘just for security.’
The injury comes at a critical time, as the US Open is scheduled to begin in less than a week. Boisson, currently ranked 236th in the world, is on the entry list for the women's singles main draw at the Grand Slam tournament.
