Los Cabos repairs roads following heavy rainfall and flooding
Heavy rainfall in the Los Cabos municipality has caused significant infrastructure damage and traffic disruptions across San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Intense precipitation and electrical activity led to the flooding of local streams, resulting in the total closure of the San José Viejo ford and heavy congestion on La Tamaral Avenue.
In response to the storm damage, the Los Cabos Public Works department has deployed crews to repair potholes and damaged pavement on major arteries, including Bulevar José Antonio Mijares and Paseo San José. These repairs are part of an ongoing effort to restore safe driving conditions and improve mobility for residents and tourists.
Civil Protection and Risk Management authorities have issued warnings to drivers to exercise extreme caution, avoid crossing flooded streams or fords, and respect emergency personnel instructions. Repair efforts are expected to expand to other municipal delegations in the coming days.
