Los Califas bullring faces seasonal decline in Córdoba

The Los Califas bullring in Córdoba is facing a decline in its traditional role, transitioning from a year-round venue to one that primarily operates during the May Fair. Historically, the arena maintained a vibrant bullfighting calendar with events held during various times of the year, including San José, Easter, and summer nights.

A significant turning point occurred when the Córdoba City Council, under Julio Anguita, decided to suppress the September festivities to promote the Velá de la Fuensanta. This municipal decision impacted the bullfighting calendar, as the Velá failed to establish itself as a major bullfighting event, contributing to the arena's current limited seasonal usage.
