Los Chorros highway rectification project awaits environmental approval

Federal Deputy Jericó Abramo Masso is seeking specific dates for the bidding and commencement of the Los Chorros highway rectification project on Federal Highway 57 in Coahuila, Mexico. The project, which aims to improve road safety and traffic flow, involves modifying the road layout, expanding lanes, and constructing two tunnels.

The estimated investment for the works ranges between 1,500 and 1,800 million pesos. While the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transport (SICT) has completed the executive project and made progress in releasing the right-of-way, the project remains stalled due to pending environmental procedures regarding land-use changes in forested areas.

Abramo Masso intends to meet with SICT representatives in Coahuila to establish a definitive timeline for the tender process and the start of construction.
