Los Dedos Paleontological Park to host climate change exhibition

A new scientific communication exhibition titled ‘Ventana al pasado: explorando la prehistoria y el cambio climático en el Desierto de Atacama’ is opening at the Los Dedos Paleontological Park in Caldera.

Funded by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge, and Innovation, the project is executed by the Corporation for Research and Advancement of Paleontology and Natural History of Atacama (CIAHN Atacama). The free, temporary exhibit uses fossil replicas, scientific sculptures, and an interactive sensory model to demonstrate how the Atacama environment functioned millions of years ago.

The experience aims to use the deep past of the Atacama Desert to help visitors understand modern climate change challenges. The guided 75-minute tour explores fossilization processes and the marine fauna that inhabited the Atacama coast during prehistoric eras.
