Los Encuentros de Pamplona 2026 begins with focus on art and thought
The third edition of Los Encuentros de Pamplona, an international biennale of culture, art, and thought, commenced on October 2, 2026. Running until October 12, the event aims to foster dialogue and reflection on contemporary issues, including the rise of totalitarianism, democratic crises, and the impact of artificial intelligence.
The programming features diverse itineraries, with a strong emphasis on music and the human voice. Highlights include contemporary music presentations by artists such as Unsuk Chin and Beat Furrer, as well as experimental vocal performances by Isabelle Duthoit. The event also features historical and anthropological explorations of the voice.
Organizers reported an extraordinary public response, with over 11,000 tickets and invitations already collected. The opening festivities included a large-scale installation in Plaza de Baluarte, created by architecture students from the University of Navarra, featuring a 34-meter diameter circle of grass.
