Los Javis announce first international bilingual film project

Filmmakers Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, known as Los Javis, have announced their first international project, which will be filmed in both English and Spanish across Spain and other locations. The announcement follows the success of their film ‘La bola negra’, which is Spain’s candidate for Best International Feature Film at the Oscars.

In addition to the new project announcement, the duo received their first award in the United States, winning Best Direction from the Critics Choice Association. The award was presented during the sixth edition of the Celebration of Film and Television, which honors Hispanic and Latino achievements in the entertainment industry.

‘La bola negra’ follows the interconnected lives of three gay men across different timelines in 1932, 1937, and 2017, drawing inspiration from the work of Federico García Lorca.
