Los Lagos Health Authority authorizes new air ambulances

The Los Lagos Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Health has authorized three new aircraft for Servicios Aéreos Puerto Montt (SAP) to enhance aeromedical evacuation services. The authorization, formalized on October 27, includes two Piper PA-31 Navajo planes and one Beechcraft King Air E90.

These additions join an existing Beechcraft King Air C90 already in service, bringing the company's total certified aeromedical fleet to four. Operating from the Marcel Marchant Binder Aerodrome in La Paloma, SAP now possesses the largest fleet for such operations in the Los Lagos Region.

The expansion aims to improve the transfer of critical patients from isolated areas in southern Chile to medical centers with higher levels of complexity. The approval followed a review of technical, operational, and clinical documentation, including certifications from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC).
