Chile hosts diverse regional cultural and scientific initiatives
Various regional cultural, scientific, and educational initiatives are underway across Chile. In the Valparaíso Region, the ‘Trenzando Puntos de Fuga’ circuit is connecting twelve communes through free performances of orchestras, theater, and dance, inspired by the old railway routes.
In Atacama, 43 artists and managers have completed the first Diploma in Artistic Education, a collaboration between the Ministry of Cultures and the University of Atacama. Meanwhile, the Los Lagos Region is hosting celebrations for the National Day of Puppets and Marionettes, featuring workshops and performances in Puerto Octay, Osorno, and Puerto Montt.
Scientific and industrial outreach is also active. The Chilean Antarctic Institute (INACH) is organizing the XXIII Antarctic School Fair in Punta Arenas, inviting citizens to serve as jurors for student research projects. Additionally, the ‘Ruta por Fiordos y Canales’ project, led by SalmonChile, is using the school ship ‘Capitán Williams’ to bring salmon farming technology and knowledge to isolated communities in Los Lagos and Aysén.
In sports, students from the Ana Aichele School are traveling to Puerto Montt to participate in inclusive para-athletics competitions and Special Olympics events.
