Los Mochis merchants seek reopening of Agustín Melgar alleyway

Merchants at the Mercado Popular in Los Mochis are calling for the reopening of the Agustín Melgar alleyway to vehicular traffic. Tzitlaly González, the leader of the market, stated that the transition to a pedestrian-only zone has caused a significant drop in sales and led to the closure of many businesses along the alley.

Vendors report that the lack of parking at the market makes the pedestrian restriction particularly difficult for customers. While other nearby alleys have been reopened to vehicles, the Agustín Melgar alley remains closed, leaving the area largely uninhabited and impacting the livelihoods of local traders.
