Los Ángeles Azules to receive street honor in Los Angeles

The Mexican cumbia group Los Ángeles Azules will be honored in Los Angeles with the dedication of a new street intersection named ‘Los Ángeles Azules Square’. The site is located at the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Chase Street in the Panorama City community of the San Fernando Valley.

The ceremony is scheduled for September 14, 2026, at 9:00 AM, led by District 6 Councilmember Imelda Padilla. The event is part of the celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Month and aims to highlight the group's cultural influence and their deep connection with the Latino community in Los Angeles.

In addition to the street naming, the tribute will include a tour of Plaza Del Valley, the presentation of the musicians' handprints cast in cement, and the presentation of various awards and artworks to recognize their decades-long career.
