Loïs Openda set for Juventus loan to Lyon

Juventus is preparing to move on from striker Loïs Openda after a disappointing season in Serie A, during which he scored only two goals in 34 appearances. The club, which paid €43.9 million for the player, is looking to send him on a season‑long loan to Olympique Lyonnais with an option to purchase. Juventus hopes to recoup part of his €7.4 million‑per‑year salary, asking Lyon to cover a €4 million net wage contribution.

Lyon has indicated strong interest and is ready to meet the financial terms, while other clubs such as Lens, Coventry City and Premier‑League suitors have also been mentioned. Juventus would prefer a move to England for a higher fee, but the Belgian forward has reportedly expressed a preference for Lyon. Spalletti has asked to keep Openda for the pre‑season friendly against Standard Liège, after which the loan deal is expected to be finalised.
