Los Patos to build first public funeral home with INDESUR

The Los Patos District Board and the Institute for the Development of the Southwest (INDESUR) have announced the construction of the municipality's first public funeral home. The project aims to provide a dignified space for local families during times of loss.

The initiative follows the official approval of the adjudication act on September 9 under public procurement procedure INDESUR-DAF-CM-2026-0016. District Mayor Manuel Tezanos stated that the facility will be built on land specifically acquired by the current municipal administration, ensuring the building becomes a permanent part of the district's public heritage.

This partnership between the local board and INDESUR, led by Executive Director Noel Octavio Suberví Nin, is intended to address a historical social need for essential public services and strengthen urban infrastructure in the coastal area of Barahona.
